Forgiveness

What do you do when he who has hurt you irreparably wants to get back in touch?

What do you do when you can’t forgive him but don’t want to hurt him either?

What do you do when you know that forgiving him would mean hurting your loved ones?

  1. I’ve found these questions fascinating, since we all make it to this place at one point or another in our lives.

From my (still) unprofessional opinion, forgiveness can be entirely unrelated to bringing someone back. Forgiveness is more about forgiving yourself, and forgiving the person. The act can always be kept in sight and not forgotten, and trust is something that should be earned and not given immediately when forgiveness is offered. Forgiveness is finding peace, and loving from a distance. It doesn’t necessarily bringing them back.

I hope that helps, or at the very least offers another view.
